Spicy Cajun Sausage Pasta

Description

A comforting and spicy pasta dish featuring Cajun sausage.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta
  • 1 pound Cajun sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the Cajun sausage over medium heat. Remove sausage and set aside.
  3. Add onion and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes, heavy cream, chicken broth, and Cajun seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Return the sausage to the skillet.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
