Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 ounces rotini pasta, cooked according to package directions
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook rotini pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook, stirring, until the sauce is smooth and heated through. Do not boil.
- Add the cooked rotini pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
- You can substitute other pasta shapes for rotini.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
