- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup diced ham
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add diced ham and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together heavy cream and milk.
- Stir in Gruyere cheese and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Season the cream mixture with salt and black pepper to your liking.
- Add the mushroom and ham mixture to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a greased gratin dish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can use other types of mushrooms like cremini or shiitake.
- Any good melting cheese like Swiss or cheddar can be substituted for Gruyere.
- For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cream sauce.
