Irresistible Spaghetti Bolognese

Description

A flavorful classic spaghetti bolognese recipe.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Drain the spaghetti.
  5. Serve the bolognese sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of red wine to the sauce after browning the beef and cook until it evaporates.
  • You can also add other vegetables like chopped carrots or celery along with the onion.
