Ingredients

- 1 pound pasta
- 1 cup basil pesto
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a large bowl, combine the drained pasta, basil pesto, and Parmesan cheese.
- Toss to coat the pasta evenly. Add reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time if needed to reach desired consistency.
- Stir in toasted pine nuts.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of olive oil to the pesto.
- You can substitute walnuts or almonds for pine nuts.
- Add cooked chicken or shrimp for a complete meal.
