Irresistible Pesto Pasta

Description

A flavorful pesto pasta dish ready in minutes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pasta
  • 1 cup basil pesto
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the drained pasta, basil pesto, and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. Add reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time if needed to reach desired consistency.
  4. Stir in toasted pine nuts.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of olive oil to the pesto.
  • You can substitute walnuts or almonds for pine nuts.
  • Add cooked chicken or shrimp for a complete meal.
