- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced Italian deli meats (ham, salami, capicola)
- 1/4 pound thinly sliced provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup roasted red peppers, drained
- 1/4 cup marinated artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- 1/4 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and sliced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the Italian bread in half horizontally.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil and minced garlic. Brush this mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
- Layer the deli meats, provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, and Kalamata olives on the bottom half of the bread.
- Sprinkle the fresh basil over the fillings.
- Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the fillings.
- Place the top half of the bread over the fillings.
- Wrap the sandwich tightly in aluminum foil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is warmed through.
- Remove from the oven, unwrap, slice, and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can add your favorite Italian dressing for extra flavor.
- For a spicier kick, add some pepperoncini peppers.
- Ensure all your deli meats and cheeses are thinly sliced for the best texture.
