A recipe for delicious dark chocolate chip and hazelnut cookies.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (12 ounces) dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and then the eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the dark chocolate chips and chopped toasted hazelnuts.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- To toast hazelnuts, spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until fragrant. Let them cool, then rub them in a clean kitchen towel to remove the skins.
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them.
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
