Ingredients
- For Chocolate Chip Cookies: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- For Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 3 cups rolled oats, 1 cup raisins.
- For Peanut Butter Cookies: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 1 cup creamy peanut butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt.
- For Sugar Cookies: 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 cup milk.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) for Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookies. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for Oatmeal Raisin and Peanut Butter Cookies.
- For Chocolate Chip Cookies: In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until creamy. Gradually beat in dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- For Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- For Peanut Butter Cookies: In a large bowl, beat butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- For Sugar Cookies: In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in dry ingredients alternately with milk. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies for 9 to 11 minutes. Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Bake Peanut Butter Cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Bake Sugar Cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
