Ingredients

  • For Chocolate Chip Cookies: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • For Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 3 cups rolled oats, 1 cup raisins.
  • For Peanut Butter Cookies: 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 1 cup creamy peanut butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt.
  • For Sugar Cookies: 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 cup milk.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) for Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookies. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for Oatmeal Raisin and Peanut Butter Cookies.
  2. For Chocolate Chip Cookies: In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until creamy. Gradually beat in dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. For Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir in oats and raisins. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  4. For Peanut Butter Cookies: In a large bowl, beat butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. For Sugar Cookies: In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in dry ingredients alternately with milk. Drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies for 9 to 11 minutes. Bake Oatmeal Raisin Cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Bake Peanut Butter Cookies for 10 to 12 minutes. Bake Sugar Cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
