Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 (3 ounce) package strawberry gelatin mix
  • 1 (3 ounce) package raspberry gelatin mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gelatin: In separate bowls, dissolve the strawberry gelatin mix in 1 cup of boiling water and the raspberry gelatin mix in another 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in 1/2 cup of cold water into each bowl. Let stand until slightly thickened.
  2. Assemble the trifle: In a large, clear glass bowl, layer half of the pound cake cubes.
  3. Spoon half of the thickened strawberry gelatin over the pound cake.
  4. Top with half of the whipped topping.
  5. Sprinkle half of the blueberries and strawberries over the whipped topping.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, raspberry gelatin, whipped topping, blueberries, and strawberries.
  7. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a firmer trifle, allow the gelatin to thicken more before layering.
  • You can substitute other red and blue fruits like raspberries and blackberries.
