Easy Orange Chicken Recipe

A quick and flavorful orange chicken recipe ready in 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with soy sauce and cornstarch.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, combine orange juice, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes more until heated through.
  5. Serve immediately over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute chicken breasts for thighs if preferred.
