- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the shredded cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can add other ingredients like chopped herbs or cooked bacon bits to the batter.
- For a crispier crust, you can bake the bread for an additional 5 minutes.
- Store cooled bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
