- 1 cup broccoli florets, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, flour, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the skillet. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove fritters from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the batter.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or marinara.
