Ingredients

  • 1 cup broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, flour, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the skillet. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove fritters from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve hot.
