Description

A classic banana pudding recipe with layers of creamy custard, fresh bananas, and vanilla wafers.


Ingredients

  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 (11 ounce) box vanilla wafers
  • 34 ripe bananas, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth.
  2. Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk.
  3. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until just combined.
  4. Layer the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish with vanilla wafers.
  5. Arrange a layer of sliced bananas over the wafers.
  6. Pour half of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  7. Repeat the layers: vanilla wafers, bananas, and the remaining pudding mixture.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use ripe but firm bananas.
  • Chill the pudding for at least 4 hours to allow the wafers to soften and flavors to meld.
  • You can add a sprinkle of crushed vanilla wafers on top before serving for extra texture.
