Ingredients

- 1.5 lbs flank steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
- 1 tbsp butter
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Place the flank steak in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- While the steak is marinating, toss the asparagus with butter, salt, and pepper.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade. Grill the steak for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.
- Grill the asparagus for 5-7 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
- Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
- Serve the sliced steak with grilled asparagus.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika to the marinade.
- You can substitute flank steak with skirt steak or sirloin.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can pan-sear the steak and roast the asparagus in the oven.
